End Piece
Looking back, I can see that this journey has been in progress for most of the Millennium and that more has happened than just changing job titles from Principal Engineer to Fine Art Photographer.
I’ve changed; my relationship with the world around me has changed.

from 'Being Curious' Series
For much of the time I’ve lived in Leeds I’d say that I lived on the city; it has suited me, but the city and I have been like colleagues, not close friends – the city just provided an amiable, comfortable backdrop to our busy working lives. But photography (and lately, retirement) have allowed me to develop a deeper relationship with the city and the wider county; I live in it – not on it – a rewarding friendship has developed. I’ve become more curious; more engaged; and in turn I’m somehow more at ease with myself.
I’ll limit myself to just one more observation …
Recently I’ve stopped asking myself where my photography is going – as if I were a 30-year-old again and needed a five-year career development plan! My photography is just what it is – it will go wherever my creative expression, my creative voice, wants to take it.
The journey hasn’t ended. If the gods are willing, I hope this fledgling artist will develop further to a more assured one.
Thank you for listening.
